The spectacular climate of the beach areas, with temperatures of 23º all year round, which contrasts with the area of the highlands, where one of the most unique and emblematic forests of Spain is found. The persistent envelope of mist ascends from the Atlantic Ocean over the island peaks, creating a splendid and mysterious forest. It is one of the last vestiges of the ancestral subtropical forests that millions of years ago populated the Mediterranean area. Garajonay National Park is the main exponent of the Canary laurel forest, with a high number of endemic species of flora and fauna. In 1986 it was included among the Natural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. For lovers of natural pools, we recommend visiting the Charco de Santa Catalina.
If you want to enjoy an unforgettable experience, an excellent option is to take an excursion in the Atlantic Ocean to see the marine fauna of La Gomera, where you can observe, among others, bottlenose and Atlantic spotted dolphins, pilot whales, loggerhead sea turtles and ospreys.
